The UGG boot is potentially the most popular boot of the last decade. Not only are they warm and cosy, perfect for the colder months, they’re timeless.

A seamless blend of luxe and casual and crafted from deluxe suede with a super-soft sheepskin lining; UGGs are the perfect winter boot.

To keep your UGGs looking brand new they need some extra care every once in a while.

Here, we’re sharing our top tips on how to care for your UGGs.

Are UGGs true to size?

Before you care for your UGGs, or even purchase them, you’re probably wondering if they’re true to size. In general, UGGs do fit true to size, however, over time the inner will begin to flatten and mould to your foot, making them a little looser, so it may be worth sizing down if you want a snug fit.

The sheepskin exterior will not stretch, the loose feeling you may begin to experience is purely from your inner flattening with wear.

To find your true size use the UGG Measurement Guide, this will give you the most accurate measurement.

Can UGGs go in the washing machine?

Ideally you want to avoid washing your UGGs if they’re made from sheepskin, as they are extremely delicate when it comes to water. To clean your UGGs use the UGG Care Kit, specifically designed to clean your UGGs safely.

Are UGGs waterproof?

Classic UGGs definitely aren’t wet weather shoes. They are crafted from sheepskin and wool which aren’t the best mix with water, particularly rainwater and snow as the salt stains and fades your UGGs.

UGG do offer a large selection of waterproof boots for you to choose from, but the classic boots are generally a no go in rainy conditions.

Can I wear my UGG slippers outside?

Whilst the soles of most UGG slippers are hard and sturdy, so water will not seep through easily, UGG slippers aren’t designed to be worn outside. Some styles are water-resistant, so could be worn on dry days, but on a whole they shouldn’t be worn outside as sheepskin is hard to take care of and rain can damage them.

How to clean UGGs

The safest and most effective way to clean your UGGs is using the UGG Care Kit. The kit comes equipped with the Protector, Cleaner and Conditioner, Shoe Renew freshener, a bamboo handle brush and a suede scuff eraser.

1.   Using the Protector hold the bottle 6” away from your UGGs and spray evenly until they are wet but not soaked
